Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
