The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to send support to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down following a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists featured on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The song features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the project have stated that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Of course, the more the merrier. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a few million is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
